Fundraising Ideas

Between its four branches‚ call center and lending department‚ the staff of The Partnership FCU collected $1‚290 in just one week by asking for $1 at a time. Their goal was $500 — which they more than doubled. It was an NFL-themed promotion with footballs‚ provided by Children’s National Medical Center‚ posted in the offices for each donation. Staff wore football jerseys each Friday during the promotion. In an ongoing fundraising campaign‚ staff are currently donating $150 per month for the privilege of wearing jeans on Fridays‚ all of which is donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Here's what some sponsor credit unions have done to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network:

Prince George’s Community FCU did 614 Skip A Pay Loans at $25 per loan‚ with $5 of it going to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Educational Systems FCU raised $2,465 by having System Administrator Bill Brooks, Jr. keep his hair dyed pink from March 1 to April 30. Bill is the son of Credit Union Miracle Day, Inc. founder and ex-officio board member, Bill Brooks.

Constellation FCU held a raffle for an iPad allowing them to raise $ .15 cents per member.

The Partnership FCU held a silent auction. Staff and runners donated their guaranteed race entries for bids. The partnership also held an Art Auction using artwork from the day care center at their Arlington location. It was such a success they plan to hold this auction annually!

NARFE Premier FCU organized the Biggest Loser Corporate Challenge, a 12-week journey to lose weight and eat healthier. Employees paid $20 to participate with half going to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and half to a pool for the winner.

Department of Labor FCU raised $ .28 per member by donating their Skip a Pay fees to CMNH.

Northwest FCU auctioned guaranteed race entry forms to its members, raising $1,500 from 13 members who couldn’t get into the sold-out race by ordinary means.
